Penn Badgley

Penn Badgley ("The Mountain") has been tapped for the lead in the WB's untitled college project.

He will star as New York pre-med student Owen Gregory in the hourlong drama from HBO Independent Prods. Series is co-written and co-created by Julie Martin and Tom Fontana, who will exec produce with Barry Levinson and Jim Finnerty.

Pilot will lense in Gotham in March.
