Bill Clinton and Barbra Streisand will chair a 75th-birthday celebration for Stephen Sondheim.
The all-star gala, "Children and Art," takes place March 21 at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theater. It is a benefit for Young Playwrights.
Performers include Matthew Broderick, Barbara Cook, Dame Edna, Harvey Fierstein, Whoopi Goldberg, George Hearn, Nathan Lane, Patti LuPone, Audra McDonald, Mandy Patinkin, Bernadette Peters, Tonya Pinkins and Chita Rivera, among others.
Also appearing will be members of the original casts of Sondheim's "Company," "Follies" and "Merrily We Roll Along," backed by a 35-piece orchestra.
The event is produced by Richard Maltby Jr., Kevin Stites and Sheri M. Goldhirsch.
