'Sketches' wrapped up

'Gehry' covers life of famous architect

NEW YORK -- Sydney Pollack has just wrapped his first doc feature, "Sketches of Frank Gehry," after four years on the film.

Pollack and the architect have been pals for over 25 years. Docu covers Gehry's rise and creative process.

The architect's work includes the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles; the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain; and a recent commission for a performing arts building at Gotham's ground zero.

Pic -- seeking distribution through Cinetic Media -- was shot on location in Europe and the U.S., and features interviews with Dennis Hopper, Julian Schnabel, Philip Johnson and Ed Ruscha.

A co-production with PBS' "American Masters" series, pic was produced by Ultan Guilfoyle for Pollack's Mirage Enterprises and the SP Architecture banner.

Exec producers are Susan Lacy, Stanley Buchthal and Maya Hoffmann.

Cinetic recently sold docu "Mad Hot Ballroom" to Paramount Classics and Nickelodeon.
