A panel discussion after the Feb. 7 screening of Universal's doc "Inside Deep Throat" at the Paris Theater in Gotham was no less contentious than the recent panel in Los Angeles.
Feminist law prof
Catherine MacKinnon, who once repped Linda Lovelace, asserted that "Deep Throat" exploited its female star, and criticized the doc for ignoring the porn pic's negative effects.
"You've just watched, again, Linda Lovelace being raped, in an HBO documentary," said MacKinnon, who at times drew hisses from the crowd.
Alan Dershowitz locked horns with her, saying the assertion dilutes the meaning of "the horrible, horrible crime of rape."
Eventually, moderator
Elvis Mitchell had to cut Dershowitz off to end the panel.
