First they got the director, now they're going after the date.
Last summer, Warner Bros. engineered a coup when it landed
Bryan Singer, fresh off two successful "X-Men" pics at Fox and in negotiations to direct a third, to helm its long-gestating comicbook project "Superman" instead.
Fox is still committed to making "X-Men 3," though it's yet to announce a helmer to replace Singer, and is sticking with its release date: May 5, 2006.
Last week though, in addition to announcing plans to unspool "Superman" over Independence Day next year, Warners also set the release for
Wolfgang Petersen's next tentpole, "The Poseidon Adventure."
The date? May 5, 2006.
