Picture This! Entertainment has acquired the North America rights to Macedonia's helmer Ivo Trajkov's fifth feature "The Great Water."
Pic is Macedonia's official Academy Awards entry for foreign language film. A co-production between Macedonian companies Artis3 and Kaval Film, Czech company World Circle Foundation and U.S. company Castor Productions, "The Great Water" was the official selection at both the 2004 AFI Los Angeles Intl. and the 2005 Palm Springs Intl. film fests.
Based on the novel of the same name by author Zhivko Chingo, "The Great Water" is the story of Lem Nikodinoski. As Nikodinoski nears death, his only memories are of his life when he was twelve as an orphan in post-war Stalinist Yugoslavia.
Picture This! plans a May 2005 theatrical release.
