In a first, net is putting all eight episodes of the show online Monday. Users can download each of the eight episodes at Fox.com for $1.99 on a pay-per-view basis, or the entire series as a "boxed set" for $9.99.
Only three episodes of the show aired on Fox before it was cancelled last spring (Daily Variety, March 30, 2004). Net later revealed who won via its website.
While nets have put entire episodes of shows online before for promotional purposes and have charged for additional content, this marks the first time one has attempted to offer entire episodes of a series for Internet PPV.
Fans of similarly cancelled "My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss" are getting a better deal. The final five episodes of that show, which didn't make it to air before series was cancelled, are going onto Fox's website for free.
Fox quietly pulled "Boss" earlier this month.
PPV service for "Straight" is being powered by Internet video-on-demand company CinemaNow, which already has deals with most major movie studios, including Fox, to offer online movie rentals.
