'Shrek 2' nabbed three trophies at the People's Choice Awards.
See Winners
The 31st Annual People's Choice awards presented a plethora of honors Sunday night on CBS. The winners were determined by fans who cast more than 21 million votes for their favorites in 37 film, television and music categories. This was the first year that fans were able to vote online.
The list of those who took home trophies bears little resemblance to anything Globe or Oscar buzz-worthy, but the People's Choice kudos make up for that with a little bit of good old-fashioned political (and comically ironic) controversy. With wins going to"Fahrenheit 9/11" for favorite movie and "The Passion of the Christ" for favorite movie drama it appears that the people have spoken ... or at least two very specific groups of people with Internet access have spoken.
But the one movie that the people love the most isn't red or blue. It's green. "Shrek 2" led the pack, taking home five awards including favorite movie comedy and movie sequel.
The awards were hosted by Jason Alexander and Malcolm-Jamal Warner.
