The American Cinema Editors have tapped James L. Brooks to receive this year's ACE Golden Eddie filmmaker of the year award.
Kudos will be presented to Brooks at the 55th annual ACE Eddie Awards ceremony Feb. 20 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
"We're thrilled to honor this gifted artisan for his contributions to the industry, his consistent excellence and craftsmanship and his unique ability to capture the human spirit on screens big and small around the world," the ACE board said.
Brooks won three Oscars for writing, directing and producing "Terms of Endearment" and 15 Emmys.
