Revolution Studios has found a manager for its "Bench Warmers."

Studio is in negotiations with veteran comedy director Dennis Dugan ("National Security") to helm the baseball laffer.

Story centers on three men who were poor at sports when they were kids but try to make up for it by forming a three-man team that challenges nine-player youth baseball teams.

Script, from an idea by Adam Sandler, is by Allen Covert ("Eight Crazy Nights") and Nick Swardson ("Malibu's Most Wanted").

Rob Schneider and David Spade are on tap to play two of the men. The third has not yet been set.

"Bench Warmers" is fast-tracked at Revolution for an April start date. Pic is being produced by Jack Giaraputo of Sandler's Happy Madison shingle.

Dugan worked with Giaraputo and Sandler on two previous pics: "Big Daddy" and "Happy Gilmore."

He also has many TV series to his credit, including "L.A. Law" and "Moonlighting."

Revolution partner Todd Garner is overseeing the project for the studio along with Derek Dauchy.
