Unscripted vet Jamila Hunter has joined 20th Century Fox Television as the studio's No. 2 comedy development exec.

As VP of comedy development, Hunter will work with scribes on 20th's roster and recruit talent to create half-hour laffers. She reports to 20th senior VP of comedy development Quan Phung, who confirmed Hunter's hiring Thursday.

At Bravo, Hunter "distinguished herself as someone whom writers and producers loved working with, and that collaboration resulted in many groundbreaking reality series," Phung said, predicting Hunter's background developing alternative skeins will supply 20th with a fresh perspective on comedy.

Hunter was tapped veep of development and production for Bravo in August 2003. She helped develop the improv laffer "Significant Others" as well as reality skeins such as "Blow Out" and "Miami Slice," and the Kathy Griffin comedy special "The D-List."

Before Bravo, Hunter was at sister net NBC, where she was named VP of alternative in January 2002. She joined the Peacock in 1999 as manager of longform.
