NEW YORK -- Palm Pictures topper Chris Blackwell's inaugural Goldeneye Film Festival wrapped Dec. 13, marking the close to the experimental event hatched by the Island Records founder, at which most films screen via DVD in attendees' rooms.

Jamaica fest kicked off Dec. 8 at the former estate of Ian Fleming, creator of James Bond. Locale is now part of Blackwell's Island Outpost resort.

Private villas at Goldeneye included screening rooms where festgoers could watch pics from a common festival movie library.

Highlights of the lineup included current release "The Woodsman," as well as the martial arts epic "Hero" and Cannes standouts "Mondovino" and "Cronicas."

Special screenings included Perry Henzell's "The Harder They Come" and Emmett Malloy and Jack Johnson's surf pic, "Brokedown Melody."

Attendees included Newmarket Films' Bob Berney; Winnie Lau of sales banner Fortissimo; Submarine's Josh Braun; helmers Ondi Timoner, Margaret Brown and Stephen Hopkins; and rocker Jimmy Buffett.
