Focus shifts to Evans as sr. veep

Exec will be in charge of physical production

Universal specialty film unit Focus Features has tapped Jane Evans senior veep of physical production.

Evans will oversee physical production on all in-house film productions for Focus and its genre imprint, Rogue.

Based in Gotham and reporting to COO Andrew Karpen and production prexy John Lyons, the exec will also oversee post-production on Focus pics, as well as on all company acquisitions.

"Jane is the perfect match for Focus," said Focus co-toppers David Linde and James Schamus. "She loves the filmmaking process, she loves movies, and she truly respects and enjoys working with filmmakers."

Evans ankled Miramax Films this year as senior veep of physical production. She originally joined the mini-major in 1999 and oversaw physical production on films including the "Spy Kids" franchise, "Cold Mountain," "Serendipity," "Proof," "An Unfinished Life" and "Shall We Dance."

Evans was previously director of production at HBO's HBONYC Prods. shingle.

Focus is in current release with Walter Salles' "The Motorcycle Diaries." Upcoming rollouts include Pawel Pawlikowski's "My Summer of Love," Adam Rapp's "Winter Passing," Fernando Meirelles' "The Constant Gardener," Harold Ramis' "The Ice Harvest" and an untitled project by Jim Jarmusch.
