Legal eagle ankles U post

Randall will take off at the end of the year

NEW YORK -- Universal Studios exec VP and general counsel Karen Randall will ankle at the end of the year, with senior VP and intellectual property counsel Maren Christensen tapped to fill the post.

Move was announced by U Studios prexy-chief operating officer Ron Meyer and NBC Universal's lead general counsel, Richard Cotton.

Cotton and Meyer credited Christensen with having particularly strong skills in copyright policy and protection.

Randall joined U Studios in 1996, serving as exec VP and general counsel since March 2000.

Christensen joined U Studios in 1997 after practicing entertainment and intellectual property litigation at Rosenfeld, Meyer and Susman, in Beverly Hills.
