Smoking Off-B'way

Chong goes from a cell to a stage

Tommy Chong, recently released from jail for selling pipes that could be used for smoking dope, makes his Off Broadway debut in the long-running "The Marijuana-logues."

Chong's engagement runs Dec. 7-19 at the Actors Playhouse, where the show opened in March. In February, the star of "Up in Smoke," tours "Marijuana-logues" on the West Coast.

Despite the presence of Chong, the show carries the disclaimer: "This production does not glorify drug use. Rather, it illustrates that cannabis culture is a thing of substance, humor and creativity."
