Story, based on an idea by Berg, centers on an elementary school teacher who's on a field trip to a mock-up of Salem, Mass., on the day he's being dumped by his fiance for being too nice. When he finds himself in a gift shop, a clerk dressed like a witch hears him wish he could be meaner and starts a curse that requires him to retaliate.
"He has to get in touch with his inner demons and find out he's not really as nice as he's tried to be," Weiss said.
Paramount presidents Donald De Line and Tom Jacobson made the purchase along with exec VP Brian Witten, who's overseeing for the studio along with Ed Goemans.
Stem and Weiss have written a quartet of comedies for Paramount -- "Clockstoppers," "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius" and the first two "Rugrats" films. They've also penned Revolution's Ice Cube comedy "Are We There Yet."
Berg said he's wanted to work with the duo since meeting them five years ago when he was a Universal exec.
Berg and Komarnicki, who produced "Elf," signed a first-look deal last year at Par and are developing "It's Not You, It's Me," "Starship Dave," "The Manny," "The User" and a remake of "Wild About Harry" for the studio, along with "Camp Sachem" at Revolution.
