Horror outfit, Seven Arts link for slate of pics

SANTA MONICA -- Horror outfit BloodWorks and Peter Hoffman's Seven Arts have teamed to co-finance, produce and distribute a slate of horror films for theatrical and/or DVD distribution.

First pic to be produced under the deal will be "Win, Lose or Die," from director Herschell Gordon Lewis.

Seven Arts will also rep other BloodWorks films internationally, including "Sick in the Head," from director Frank Henenlotter and producers Christopher Tuffin and Steven Mackler. Fangoria Films' Tony Timpone and Norman Jacobs exec produce.

BloodWorks is headed by Tuffin and former NFL star Glenn Cadrez in partnership with the Steel Co., with execs Gordon Steel and John Baca exec producing on the pics.

BloodWorks also has a strategic alliance with Jive/Zomba Records to handle soundtracks and licensing opportunities.

BloodWorks recently co-produced "2001 Maniacs," a remake of Lewis film "2000 Maniacs."

Seven Arts financed and/or repped "Rules of Engagement," "Stander," "No Good Deed," "The Believer" and "Duets," as well as the upcoming "Noise," starring Ryan Gosling, and "Poolhall Prophets," starring Freddie Prinze Jr. and Ving Rhames.
