McGorry upped at RBI

Named exec VP of Publishers Weekly, others

Veteran publishing exec Bill McGorry has been named executive vice president and publisher of Publishers Weekly, Library Journal, School Library Journal and Criticas.

Announcement came from Tad Smith, president of Reed Business Information's media division, the parent organization of Variety and Daily Variety.

McGorry most recently was RBI's executive vice president for licensing and electronic development, a post in which he was instrumental in growing the licensing business and opening up publishing ventures in China. Prior to that he presided over the expansion of Multichannel News and Broadcasting & Cable.
