Cabler promotes Diaz, Eisen, Lazin

NEW YORK -- Three executives who have helped MTV's news and docs division expand in the last four years under Dave Sirulnick, exec VP of MTV News & Production, got promotions on Thursday.

MTV awarded VP stripes to Nina Diaz and Marshall Eisen and gave new production duties to Lauren Lazin.

Division produces the regularly scheduled MTV series "True Life" and "Diary" and also does "MTV Cribs," going into its 10th season.

Diaz, who joined the MTV division in 1996 as associate producer of "Think Positive," created and oversees "Cribs." It was on "Cribs" that the potential of Ozzy Osbourne and his family surfaced, leading to reality show hit "The Osbournes."

Eisen, a four-year veteran of the division, is showrunner on "True Life," "Diary" and "I Want a Famous Face."

Lazin, a producer with MTV since 1987, will produce and direct series for MTV plus sister networks VH1 and the still-in-development Logo, which will schedule shows for gay and lesbian viewers.

Based in New York, all three will continue to report to Sirulnick.
