Toubon tooks the reins of Eurimages in 2002 after former prexy Gianni Masaro ankled the post over a power struggle between the fund's executive body, the Council of Europe, and the board of Eurimages.
In a statement after his re-election Tuesday, Toubon said that "the creation of a synergy between Eurimages and the European Union's MEDIA program" would be a priority in his new term.
The Eurimages fund, instituted by the Council of Europe in 1988, groups together 33 member states with of goal of promoting European cinema. Since its induction, Eurimages has backed 980 co-productions to the tune of E280 million.
