Pic, which starts production Sept. 25, is being directed by James Ivory and will star Ralph Fiennes, Vanessa Redgrave and Natasha Richardson.
"Countess" will use Ruddy Morgan's offices in Shanghai throughout the shoot and has hired cinematographer Chris Doyle to join the crew.
Sony Pictures Classics will release pic in North America, Mexico and Australia.
Production will make use of Ruddy Morgan's Hweilai Studios in Shanghai, which offer production and post-production facilities.
