Brendan Fletcher

Brendan Fletcher ("Freddy vs. Jason") has been tapped for a role in the Terry Gilliam-helmed "Tideland," adapted from Mitch Cullin's novel about a girl who es-capes from the grim reality of her life into a world of fantasy, where she is accompanied on her adventures by four disembodied doll heads.

The Capri Films/Recorded Picture Co. commences lensing in Saskatchewan, Canada, in late September. Other key castings are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Co-penned by Gilliam and Tony Grisoni, the British/Canadian co-production will feature Fletcher in the role of Dickens.

Thesp can next be seen in Fox Searchlight comedy "The Onion Movie."
