Variety taps Horst

Mag scores new assist. managing ed

Carole Horst has been named assistant managing editor of special reports for Variety, managing editor of special reports Dade Hayes announced.

Horst started on the Daily Variety news desk in 1991 and assumed the duties of Variety film section editor in 1993. The Penn State grad moved to special reports in 2002, and continued to edit special reports during a two-year stint in Glasgow, Scotland.
