Col TriStar names events VP

Bossert now veep at studio

Alison Bossert has been named vice president, special events for the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group.

Bossert, who began her career at the studio as an assistant for special events at Columbia TriStar Television, was most recently director, special events, for CTMPG.

She is responsible for designing and managing more than 30 movie premieres, award show parties and corporate retreats per year in Los Angeles and New York for Columbia Pictures and Revolution Studios. Recent events overseen by Bossert and her team include the "Spider-Man 2" preem and party in L.A., as well as Col's gala presentation for exhibitors at this year's ShoWest gathering in Las Vegas.

Other premieres she's supervised include "Men in Black II," "XXX" and "Something's Gotta Give," as well as Col's kudos parties for the Golden Globes and Academy Awards.

Bossert joined Sony Pictures Entertainment in 1996 and rose through the ranks from special events assistant to coordinator to manager and, most recently, director. Prior to joining SPE in 1996, Bossert was employed as a broadcast logistics coordinator for the Atlanta Committee for the 1996 Olympic Games.
