Stadler climbs to 'Roof' top

Fowler adaptation will be produced by Samuelson

Fine Line Features has hired Charley Stadler to direct the futuristic thriller "Roofworld," with Dave Mitchell on board to adapt.

Based on a 1988 novel by Christopher Fowler, "Roofworld" revolves around a group of disenfranchised people who flock to London's rooftops to form alternative communities.

Producers are Peter Samuelson, Marc Samuelson, Pippa Cross and Janette Day. Overseeing production are New Line exec VP production of Mark Ordesky and Ileen Maisel, Fine Line senior VP of acquisitions and production.

A vet blurb director, Stadler makes his feature debut with the upcoming action comedy "Dead Fish," starring Gary Oldman and Robert Carlyle.
