Inside Move: Sloan, CBS discuss post

Top reality spot has been vacant since Maynard ankled

Former USA Network reality chief Chris Sloan has been talking to CBS about a senior post in the Eye's alternative programming department.

Top reality spot at the net has been vacant since Ghen Maynard ankled the Eye for a scripted programming gig at NBC. CBS execs have talked to numerous candidates for the job; Sloan, who currently works for "Trading Spaces" net TLC as VP of production, has recently become a very serious candidate at the Eye.

As a senior VP of reality at USA, Sloan helped developed skeins such as "Nashville Star" and "The Real Cannonball Run." He's been at TLC since last fall.

Industry insiders said no final deal with Sloan has been done, and it's still possible the net could end up with another reality topper when all is said and done. CBS declined comment.
