Animax, a Sony Pictures Entertainment company, is also a sponsor of Japanese Anime Week, which runs until Aug. 16 and is organized by the Hong Kong Intl. Film Fest Society.
Anime Week will have 11 screenings, including "Metropolis," based on the manga by Tezuka Osamu, who created Astro Boy.
Animax is now on every pay TV platform in Hong Kong with its recent addition to Now.com.hk. The channel, which launched Jan. 1, is available in 14 million homes across the region.
