Herzfeld to hoist 'Trophy'

Helmer currently casting project

HOLLYWOOD -- John Herzfeld has been tapped by Universal-based Mandalay Pictures to direct the thriller "Trophy Wife." Herzfeld will also rewrite pic's original script by Steven Peters ("Wild Things").

Herzfeld is best known for helming theatrical features including "2 Days in the Valley" and Robert De Niro starrer "15 Minutes." He received an Emmy nomination for helming HBO telepic "Don King: Only in America."

Mandalay and Herzfeld are currently casting "Trophy Wife," which revolves around an executive at a powerful global bank whose seemingly unstoppable rise to the top is derailed when his mistress and his wife conspire to destroy his career.

Project was brought to Mandalay by Jerry Li and Stephen White, who will produce along with Reagan Silber; Mandalay exec VP David Zelon is overseeing its development.
