Stiles set to take a trip to 'Heaven'

Sighvatsson's Palomar shingle to produce $12 mil pic

HOLLYWOOD -- Julia Stiles will join Forest Whitaker in psychological thriller "A Little Trip to Heaven."

The film, budgeted at $12 million, will be produced by Joni Sighvatsson via his Los Angeles-based Palomar Pictures.

Lensing is skedded to commence in Iceland and Minnesota in mid-August.

Jeremy Renner ("S.W.A.T.," "Lords of Dogtown") also appears in the pic, the first English-lingo project for Icelandic helmer Baltasar Kormakur ("The Sea").

Kormakur also penned the script, about a dead scam artist with a million-dollar life insurance policy. His sister (Stiles), her husband (Renner) and the insurance investigator (Whitaker) all become embroiled in the case.

Katapult Film Sales is handling foreign sales for the picture. Sales have been completed in territories including Scandinavia, Benelux and France.

Stiles, currently onscreen in "The Bourne Supremacy," recently returned from London, where she starred in David Mamet's "Oleanna" at the Garrick in the West End.
