Two IATSE veeps retire

Miller, Beckman fo fill board vacancies

The Intl. Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees has announced the retirements of Daniel J. Kerins, 2nd Intl. VP, and Jean Fox, 4th Intl. VP.

The general exec board tapped Michael F. Miller, an international rep based in the IATSE West Coast office and John T. Beckman, business agent for Local 6 in St. Louis, to fill the board vacancies. The unanimous vote took place during this week's summer-session board meeting for IATSE, which reps over 100,000 below-the-line employees.

Kerins was a VP for 17 years and worked for 29 years as a business manager of Local 2, where he began his career. His father, five uncles and brother were members and he has two sons and a son-in-law working as members of the stagecraft local.

Fox held the VP slot for 11 years and held the post of international rep in charge of the California Branch-IA Special Dept. for the past 26 years.

"The contributions of Jean Fox and Dan Kerins to the growth of the IATSE can not be overstated," said IATSE prexy Tom Short.
