Wolf has joined the cast of the WB's "Everwood," which begins its third season this fall. He'll play Jake Hanson, a California doctor who takes over Dr. Abbott's old practice.
"Dr. Abbott and Dr. Brown have gone into practice together, so Scott comes in as the new doctor across the street," said "Everwood" exec producer Mickey Liddell. "He starts stealing clients from Abbott and Brown (because) he's the new, young doctor in town."
Wolf and Liddell first worked together on the feature "Go." This spring, Wolf starred in the ABC drama pilot "Kat Plus One," which Liddell and Greg Berlanti exec produced.
Liddell said Wolf's character will "definitely have a romance" as well as "a bit of an edge," in part because he'll market himself and his practice -- something Dr. Abbott and Dr. Brown haven't done.
Meanwhile, Rina Mimoun has been upped to exec producer, joining Berlanti and Liddell, for the third season of Warner Bros. TV-produced "Everwood." She'll take on more responsibilities as Berlanti and Liddell work on both "Everwood" and their new WB drama "Jack and Bobby."
As for Alexander's skein, the CBS laffer "Listen Up," Wendy Makkena ("Oliver Beene") has been cast to play the wife of his sportswriter character. Kirsten Nelson played the part in the Regency TV/CBS Prods.-produced show's pilot; Eye opted to recast.
Makkena's other credits include "NYPD Blue," both "Sister Act" pics and multiple episodes of "Judging Amy."
Regency TV topper Robin Schwartz said Makkena was cast Tuesday after reading with Alexander.
"It's taken a very long time to find the right person," she said. "But Wendy came in today and was likable, relatable and felt like she fit in the show. You immediately could see how she could work with (Alexander)."
