Fish-out-of-water comedy concerns a recently laid-off, mid-level telecom exec who tries his hand at bounty hunting to support his family's extravagant lifestyle.
Curtis and Lee Clay will produce. Patrick's manager David Baird will exec produce.
"It looks at white-collar crime, the Ken Lay, Enron stuff that's going on," Patrick said. "Ultimately, the main character fulfills every mid-manager's dream -- he goes after his white-collar boss and gets to bag him."
Patrick is a writer-in-residence at Chicago Dramatists. His most recent play was the satire "Soft Target," which ran in Chicago last fall. His next play, "Wildwood," about a group of cowboys who adapt Jane Austen for the stage, opens in Los Angeles in February. "Family Guide" is his first screenplay.
