Arthur Kennard

Agent

Agent Arthur Kennard died on June 22 in Los Angeles after a short illness. He was 77.

Kennard, who grew up in Mamaronek, N.Y., began his career in entertainment after military service and his graduation from New York University as a national tour director for producer Paul Gregory's First Drama Quartet. He then joined the Wynn Rocamora Agency to work as a sub-agent, eventually becoming head of the television department.

Kennard later purchased the Salkow Agency, where he had a talent list of 126, including Mary Astor, Raymond Burr and Boris Karloff.

Though Kennard retired to Madison, Wis., in 1973, he returned to California to become head of the literary and packaging department of the Artists Group. He then went independent again as a personal manager.

Kennard is survived by two sons.
