Scribe pair lands atop U's 'A-list'

Alloy Entertainment will produce high school pic

Universal has acquired rights to the Zoey Dean novel "The A-List," and the studio has set screenwriters Pam Falk and Mike Ellis to pen the adaptation.

Alloy Entertainment will produce.

Falk and Ellis scripted "The Wedding Planner" and most recently sold the pitch "NY Giants" to Revolution.

"A-List" follows the cultural adjustment of a 17-year-old girl who leaves Manhattan for a senior year with the monied kids of Beverly Hills High. Dean has turned the novel into an ongoing series.

Alloy prexy Leslie Morgenstein will produce, Alloy veep Bob Levy will exec produce and U's Donna Langley will supervise.

Alloy is also prepping at WB the young adult pics "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants," with Amber Tamblyn, and "Gossip Girl," with Amy Sherman-Palladino scripting for producer Denise DiNovi.

Falk and Ellis are also adapting Aimee Bender's novel, "An Invisible Sign of My Own," and have finished the script, "The Doctor and the Doorman," for Working Title and producer Lindsay Doran.
