Directed by Rodney Evans, pic is the story of a young gay black writer who finds inspiration when he meets a surviving poet from the Harlem Renaissance.
The film won a special jury award at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival. It went on to screen at the Tribeca Film Festival and as a Centerpiece screening at NewFest: New York Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, where it won the Showtime Vanguard Award. The screenplay received the Independent Feature Project's 2000 Gordon Parks Award for Screenwriting.
Evans produced the film with Aimee Schoof, Isen Robbins and Jim McKay in association with the Independent Television Service and the National Black Programming consortium.
Wolfe's Maria Lynn and Orly Ravid brokered the deal with Required Viewing Prods.' Steven Raphael.
