'Happy Days' for Fonzie, Par on DVD

August releases include tube titles 'Trek,' 'Lucy,' 'Angel'

Paramount is unleashing plenty of programming from its vaults in August and September, led by the first DVD editions of TV series "Happy Days" and "Laverne and Shirley" on Aug. 17.

The first seasons of those Garry Marshall skeins will be followed in September by "Happy Days" spinoff series, "Mork and Mindy."

A flood of titles coming Aug. 31 include the first season of "Touched by an Angel"; "South Park" episode "The Passion of the Jew" (on the same day as the DVD debut of "The Passion of the Christ"); the second season of "I Love Lucy"; "Survivor All-Stars"; and an eight-disc collector's set of the first season of the original "Star Trek" series.

Par will release the two-disc, seven-episode "Star Trek: The Next Generation -- Jean-Luc Picard Collection" (Aug. 3), and, in September, "Star Trek Generations -- Special Collector's Edition," and "Star Trek: Voyager -- The Complete Fourth Season."

Also planned for September are, among other titles, "Mean Girls," "Footloose Special Collector's Edition" and "Murder on the Orient Express." Other TV skeins include the first season of "7th Heaven" and the complete series of "Keen Eddie."
