WB picks up after 'Maid'

DiNovi, Greenspan to produce project

HOLLYWOOD -- Warner Bros. has paid mid- to high-six figures to pick up the comedy spec script "Maid of Dishonor," penned by Cristi Limm.

Story is about a jilted bride who, despite her unromantic frame of mind, must return home and be part of her sister's wedding party.

Universal and Paramount are also understood to have been bidding for pic.

Denise DiNovi and Alison Greenspan will produce the pic for the studio. Warner Bros. Pictures senior VP of production Jessica Goodman brought the project into the studio and is overseeing it.

Limm's previous credits include Scott Rudin thriller "The Kindness of Strangers."

Before becoming a screenwriter Limm was a VP with producer David Hoberman.
