Fox Kids Europe pumps profits

Strong revenues push six month figure up sixfold

AMSTERDAM -- Fox Kids Europe has reported a socko increase profits in the six months ended March 31 on the back of high revenues, as the company completes its rollout under new brand name Jetix.

Net profits surged to $9.6 million, up from $1.5 million, on the back of a 17% rise in net revenues to $84.7 million year on year.

FKE chairman-CEO Bruce Steinberg said a 53% increase in ad revenue, driven by strong ratings growth at the channels, and the addition of 4.4 million subscribers to 37.2 million year on year drove the numbers.

Net revs at biggest division channel & online jumped 26% to $65 million and consumer products division revs rose 43% to $6.8 million.

FKE has undertaken a major campaign to pick up new rights and strike co-production deals to pump up its program distribution division.
