Fox is heavily into 'Sports'

McGinly to pen script

George Tillman Jr. and Robert Teitel's State Street Pictures and A Squared Prods. have sold their untitled "Sports Babysitter" pitch to 20th Century Fox. Project is based on an article in Details magazine by Chris Smith.

Story is about a star NFL quarterback who jeopardizes his lucrative corporate endorsement deal when he misbehaves in public. With the publicity-rich Super Bowl fast approaching, the company hires a child psychologist to "baby-sit" the wayward athlete and protect their brand from further scandal.

Sean McGinly will pen the screenplay.

Pic will be exec produced by Anthony Anderson and Adam Glass of A Squared Prods., who optioned the original material.

State Street is in pre-production on roller skating comedy "Roll Bounce" at Fox 2000 Pictures. McGinly's writing credits include "Mulligan," also set up at Fox 2000.
