CBS star a 'Barnyard' animal

James to have a cow in CGI moo-vie

Paramount and Nickelodeon Movies have tapped Kevin James ("The King of Queens") to voice the lead character, a party-animal cow named Otis, in CGI-animated feature "The Barnyard."

Written, produced and directed by Steve Oedekerk ("Bruce Almighty," "Ace Ventura") in conjunction with his Omation studios, pic centers on Otis and his misfit friends who play tricks on humans, sing, dance and party. When Otis is suddenly placed in a position of responsibility around the barnyard, he must find the courage and confidence to be a leader.

James stars in and exec produces CBS/Sony's "The King of Queens," now entering its seventh season, and he is filming "Last First Kiss" opposite Will Smith.

Oedekerk last joined forces with Nick Movies for "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius," which grossed more than $100 million and was launched as a TV series on Nickelodeon.

Nick Movies prexy Albie Hecht and senior VP Julia Pistor exec produce "The Barnyard." Paul Marshal is a producer.
