Finance exec lands at ApolloMedia

Lechner to o'see license sales, finance

BERLIN -- Florian Lechner, former head of investor relations at German film group Internationalmedia, is becoming co-managing director at ApolloMedia Filmmanagement, one of the top film funds for Hollywood projects.

He joins co-managing directors Joerg Westerkamp and Thomas Becker. Lechner will oversee license sales and finance.

Former Apollo topper Frank Huebner, who ankled last month, will be a consultant at the firm he launched in 1999. He also will produce his own films and advise other production companies.

Apollo is part of the Chorus investment fund group and no longer needs its own CEO. The firm has long worked closely with Hollywood partners, most notably Moshe Diamant.

Company has raised nearly E400 million ($489 million) since its establishment, and has co-produced or financed more than 60 international pics, including "A Sound of Thunder," "Whale Rider," "Spartan," "Tristan & Isolde" and "The Black Dahlia."
