Very Brady role for host

Talkshow host to play opposite Walker in n action thriller

Talkshow host Wayne Brady has scored his first feature starring role.

He'll play a shady character named Raggedy Man opposite Paul Walker in "Running Scared," an action thriller being directed by Wayne Kramer and financed by Media 8 Entertainment.

Walker plays the father whose 10-year-old son comes into possession of a gun used in the shooting of a police officer. It puts the whole family in danger.

Brett Ratner is producing with Mark Williams and Michael Pierce.

Brady takes the role after ending his run on "The Wayne Brady Show." Buena Vista canceled the talker earlier this year because of low ratings, although Brady just picked up his second Daytime Emmy for talkshow host.

Brady had a guest stint on Dave Chappelle's self-titled Comedy Central show, portraying himself as a drug-dealing pimp and thrill-killer.

Brady heads to Broadway in August to play Billy Flynn in "Chicago."

Kramer's directing credits include "The Cooler."
