Filmblanc launches nonfiction arm
'Free,' 'Blind,' 'Bwell' on new division's prod'n sked
"Gloriously Free" is a one-hour doc following five emigrants abused for their sexual orientation in their home countries of Jordan, Mexico, Brazil, the U.S. and Jamaica and their journeys to Canada, which has progressive laws for same-sex couples and gay and lesbian refugees.
Also on the slate are reality series "Blind Date," following the six-week training for guide dogs; "Bwell,"on the journey to physical and mental health; "New in Town," on the immigrant experience; "Destination Volunteer"; and "Latino Prodigies."
Toronto-based Filmblanc is headed by prexy NoemiWeis, who has a 20-year background in the commercial industry.
