Online reality show about six twentysomethings living in a Santa Monica beach house was a short-lived Web sensation from its 1995 debut until it went offline in 1997 after venture capitalists pulled its funding.
Skein has been revived by digital content producer Cyber Oasys cq, which bought rights to the show out of bankruptcy and is partnering with producer StewdioMedia Entertainment Group and mobile content provider V-Star. It debuted recently on Sprint PCS as the first wireless reality show. Subscribers pay $3.95 per month for daily updates on video-enabled phones.
For fans of 1990s technology, "The Spot" is also back online for free.
