Michael Spiegler

Director of worldwide technical services for Saban Entertainment

Michael Spiegler, director of worldwide technical services for Saban Entertainment, died Sept. 10 of an apparent heart attack. He was 39.

Before joining Saban, Spiegler served as a freelance technical consultant for such clients as MCA, Orion, Fox and Paramount. He also held stints as manager of telecine operations for Unitel Video, executive director of worldwide technical operations for Republic Pictures Corp. and director of operations for Par's TV Group.

Among his numerous honors, Spiegler earned three local Emmy Award nominations for his work on kids shows. An art director and cartoonist, Spiegler also served as a producer, director and production manager in television.

He is survived by his parents and a sister. Memorial services are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Castaway restaurant in Burbank.
