Subsidy FilmFernsehFonds Bayern supports pic with 300,000 euros

By ED MEZA

BERLIN -- After shooting in Paris and Nantes, French helmer Claude Chabrol moved production of "La Demoiselle d'Honneur" (The Bridesmaid) to Munich's Bavaria Studios last week.

Pic, based on Ruth Rendell's English-language novel of the same name, concerns a man who falls in love with his sister's bridesmaid, a mysterious and alluring woman who forces him to commit unspeakable acts to prove his love to her.

Patrick Godeau's Aliceleo and Alfred Huermer's Berlin-based Integral Film are producing the film, which stars Laura Smet and Benoit Magimel. Latter appeared in Chabrol's last movie, "The Flower of Evil."

Bavarian state film subsidy FilmFernsehFonds Bayern (FFF) is supporting the pic with e300,000 ($362,485). Concorde Film will release "The Bridesmaid" in Germany.
