First Look rides 'Horses'

Pic will open theatrically April 30 in Salt Lake City

First Look Media has acquired all domestic distribution rights to Eleanor Lindo's family drama "Touching Wild Horses," starring Jane Seymour, Charles Martin Smith and Mark Rendall.

Pic will open theatrically April 30 in Salt Lake City and see a fall release on DVD/homevideo.

Family drama, penned by Murray McRae, concerns a young man (Rendall) who is sent to Sable Island, a world famous wild horse preserve, to live with his academic reclusive Aunt Fiona (Seymour) after a car accident leaves his father and sister dead and his mother in a coma.

"We wanted to broaden the scope of traditional family films in order to capture an adult as well as younger audience," said producer David M. Perlmutter.

Fellow producer Lewis B. Chesler and Perlmutter are partners in privately owned Canadian production shingle Chesler/Perlmutter Prods., which specializes in filmed entertainment and television programming.
