Germans buy Wine by the case

Kabel!Vision, Ish pact for carriage agreements

CANNES --The Wine Network, a new channel set to launch internationally in September, has inked two carriage agreements in Germany giving it access to more than 3 million homes.

Deals include agreements with Kabel!Vision, the digital platform of German digital TV cable operator PrimaCom, and Ish, the regional cable operator in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Wine Network provides 24 hours of programming a day focusing on all aspects of wine, including selection and collection, cooking, etiquette and entertaining tips.

The privately owned Wine Network has offices in San Francisco, Honolulu and Hong Kong and will launch in the U.S., Europe and Asia this fall.
