The Cooper-produced pic revolves around an uptight dermatologist and his newly divorced brother. For spring break they travel together to Daytona, where they must rescue the doc's son, who has been arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct. Landscape senior veep Karen Lunder brought in the project and will exec produce. New Line's Keith Goldberg, Michele Weiss and Kent Alterman will supervise.
During Cooper's short stay at New Line, he has become a go-to guy for comedies. Among them: "I Know That You Know That I Know," a comedy being written by Harley Peyton as a possible Jim Carrey vehicle; the Dana Gould-scripted "The Salesman," being tailored as a Will Ferrell vehicle; and the Howard Franklin-scripted urban comedy "Testify."
"Bob has proven to have a great nose for finding and developing high-concept comedies that attract actors who open movies," said New Line prexy Toby Emmerich. "Landscape is a good fit here."
Landscape is also producing the MGM pic "Sleepover"; the Paramount thriller "Au Pair," with Mandy Moore starring; and "The Hypnotist," a Revolution Studios pic to star Carrey. Sacha Gervasi ("Terminal") wrote the script.
