Robichaux
Mark Robichaux will join the editorial staff of Broadcast & Cable as executive editor of news. P.J. Bednarski, who has served as the paper's editor for the past four years, will become exec editor of features and special reports. Both appointments are effective April 7.
B&C editor-in-chief J. Max Robins said, "The appointment of these two highly accomplished and well-regarded journalists is an incredibly significant event for us. We couldn't be more pleased that Mark will join us and are looking forward to great things from P.J. in his new role."
Robichaux has written on a range of topics for national newspapers and magazines. He is the author of "Cable Cowboy: John Malone and the Rise of the Modern Cable Industry," published in fall 2002. He also spent 13 years at the Wall Street Journal covering entrepreneurs, television and regional issues. Most recently, he edited stories for Weekend Journal and Personal Journal. Before that he worked as a news reporter for the Miami Herald and the Columbia (Mo.) Daily Tribune.
"It's quite an opportunity for me to oversee coverage of one of the most dynamic industries in American business today. This is a time of tremendous upheaval and change. I'm thrilled," Robichaux said.
Before joining B&C, Bednarski was the editor of Electronic Media. He has been writing about the entertainment industry for 25 years and has worked for publications such as USA Today and the Chicago Sun-Times.
"The new appointments signify Broadcast & Cable's commitment to remaining a major source of news for the TV industry. We are fortunate that we can build on a solid foundation of an unrivaled history and reputation in the business," Robins added.
B&C, which, like
Variety, is a publication of Reed Business U.S., focuses on TV programming, finance, regulatory and media trends.
